The Council for Social Policies (CEPS)
The Council for Social Policies (CEPS) is a key body dedicated to promoting sustainable economic development and the social well-being of cooperating communities, without interfering with their freedoms but fostering constructive and stimulating dialogue among the parties.
CEPS – as a roundtable forum – aims to:
-
Coordinate economic and social policies among CNU members and its partners such as NGOs, associations of various levels, and local committees, thereby encouraging international cooperation and the exchange of best practices.
-
Promote sustainable development initiatives, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the CNU.
-
Provide a platform for dialogue among governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders on economic and social issues of global relevance.
NGOs, associations, and committees interested in collaborating with CEPS may apply for consultative status, which entitles them to:
-
Participate in CEPS meetings and actively contribute to discussions and policy decisions.
-
Submit proposals and position papers on economic and social issues of common interest.
-
Organize events and workshops in collaboration with CEPS to raise awareness on specific topics.
To obtain consultative status, organizations must:
-
Be legally recognized in their country of origin (legal personality for associations – notarial deed for NGOs – dated public founding minutes for informal committees).
-
Operate in sectors related to CEPS activities.
-
Have a democratic and transparent organizational structure.
-
Demonstrate proven experience and competence in the relevant fields.
Applications for consultative status are periodically reviewed by the CEPS Committee. Approved organizations will be officially notified and may begin to participate in the Council’s activities.
Collaborating with CEPS offers NGOs and associations the opportunity to engage in economic and social policy discussions at the international level, actively contributing to the CNU’s mission of promoting human development and the protection of fundamental rights.
