The Confederal High Commissioner for Human Rights is the independent body of the CNU responsible for promoting, monitoring and safeguarding human rights within the Confederation.

It carries out functions of analysis, documentation and recommendation regarding violations, critical issues and humanitarian matters, following international principles and best practices.
It operates with full autonomy, without coercive powers, and acts as a bridge between communities, confederal institutions and international bodies.

Its mandate and operating procedures are defined by the CNU Statute and the relevant regulation.
