🚨 Mission and Operations of the CNU DisasterTeam

The DisasterTeam-CNU is responsible for:

  • Organizing monitoring missions to ensure compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in areas where CNU delegations are present, and addressing any reported violations;

  • Activating the friendly network (“rete amica”)—composed of organizations, volunteer groups, associations, individuals, and local authorities—to help identify and prioritize critical needs;

  • Coordinating with the affected population and local institutions to carry out first-response humanitarian aid;

  • Managing the friendly network and maintaining lists of urgent interventions, including needs for durable goods, food, medicine, and other essential supplies;

  • Activating collection points for goods and resources;

  • Coordinating collection points with local storage and distribution centers;

  • Receiving and evaluating participation proposals from individuals, associations, or entities willing to join the humanitarian network.

🤝 A Network of Action and Solidarity

The main goal of the DisasterTeam is to build and coordinate a volunteer and logistics network that connects CNU collection hubs, volunteers, local communities, associations, and institutions in disaster-affected areas.

This network enables the Confederation to intervene quickly and effectively through targeted humanitarian action.

💯 Full Transparency of Donations

Important:
All resources collected by the CNU—including financial donations—are distributed in full. No deductions or handling fees are ever applied.
Whether donations are monetary, consumable, or durable goods, the Confederation guarantees 100% direct and complete delivery to those in need.
We believe that no one should profit from human suffering.

The DisasterTeam continuously monitors the entire aid chain to ensure that every resource reaches its intended destination, with no intermediaries or diversions.

🆔 How to Recognize Official CNU Humanitarian Missions

  • All volunteers wear vests or uniforms clearly marked with the CNU logo, carry an international ID badge, and a mission assignment letter, which can also be verified through the official CNU emergency website.

  • Aid packages—containing food, medical supplies, or crisis-management equipment—are marked with the CNU logo, the name of the sending hub, and are accompanied by CNU shipping manifests, showing point of origin and destination.

  • Vehicles and mobile aid units are also branded with the CNU logo.

All personnel, transport vehicles, and cargo operate under the Hierarchy of Legal Sources and within the international legal protection framework of the CNU as an IGO (Intergovernmental Organization).

Missions are carried out in collaboration with national authorities wherever possible, but always with one central priority:
👉 the human being in need.

Any obstruction to the application of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) will be challenged through CNU’s legal department and addressed in appropriate judicial forums.
The primary legal subject is always the individual whose rights have been violated.

🔄 Collection Points: Active Even in Times of Peace

CNU collection points remain operational even during non-crisis periods as part of a preventive humanitarian readiness system.

🛍️ What to Bring to a Collection Point

In general, non-perishable food items such as:

  • cereals

  • powdered milk

  • dehydrated products

However, in case of specific emergencies, each collection center will provide tailored lists of needed goods, as every crisis has its own unique requirements.

🌐 Join the CNU Humanitarian Network

Associations, organizations, and local groups are welcome to collaborate freely with the CNU to strengthen the humanitarian solidarity network.

There is no cost or obligation—just a willingness to participate in a shared “alert system” that can be activated when needed and coordinated effectively to direct resources and efforts with maximum impact.

➡️ Individual citizens are also welcome, including those who wish to act as local collection points.
