Transport and Mobile Columns Commission

Mission

The Transport and Mobile Columns Commission of the Confederation of Humanitarian Nations (CNU) is responsible for ensuring the logistical coordination, transport of humanitarian goods, and mobilization of resources required for emergency and relief operations.
It operates in close cooperation with territorial delegations, the Humanitarian Emergency Department, and relevant local authorities, guaranteeing speed, efficiency, and safety in every intervention.

Purpose

The Commission is dedicated to:

  • Organizing, planning, and managing humanitarian transport operations and mobile intervention units.

  • Ensuring the proper logistical flow of materials, equipment, food, and medicines destined for populations affected by natural disasters or humanitarian crises.

  • Guaranteeing compliance with international standards on safety and humanitarian transport.

  • Coordinating volunteers and operators responsible for transport, storage, and distribution of relief items.

  • Promoting technical cooperation with public institutions, civil protection authorities, emergency services, law enforcement, and partner organizations.

Structure and Functions

The Transport and Mobile Columns Commission:

  • Plans the mobilization of operational units in cases of national or international emergencies.

  • Coordinates logistical assets (land, sea, or air transport) necessary for the management of humanitarian supply chains.

  • Maintains a register of authorized vehicles and volunteers, in accordance with CNU internal regulations.

  • Provides technical and safety training to volunteers in logistics, driving, and handling of sensitive goods.

  • Cooperates with other Commissions and Confederation Councils to ensure adequate logistical support for peace missions, educational programs, and international cooperation projects.

Confederate Mobile Columns

The CNU Mobile Columns are temporary operational units composed of trained volunteers, vehicles, and specialized equipment.
They are activated in cases of:

  • Humanitarian emergencies, natural disasters, or exceptional events.

  • Evacuation, safety, or essential goods distribution operations.

  • Joint missions conducted with other organizations or public authorities.

Each Mobile Column operates under the coordination of the Confederal Operations Directorate, following internal procedures and in full compliance with the principles of neutrality, impartiality, and humanity.

Cooperation and Safety

All activities of the Commission are carried out in full compliance with national and international legislation, occupational safety standards, and the guidelines of UN humanitarian agencies (OCHA, UNHCR, WFP).
The CNU promotes the exchange of logistical expertise with partner institutions and ensures transparency and traceability of operations through technical reports and official registers.
